What is a Content Management System (CMS)
A CMS is a backend program designed to make general updating of website content quick and easy without special desktop software or knowledge of any programming language .
The days of having a static website (a website that sort of sits there and never changes) is pretty much over. People are using the internet more than ever in their daily lives and they expect more from your site. They want you to inform them and communicate with them. They want to know that there is a real person behind the website.
You accomplish this by keeping certain aspects of your site fresh with new content. There was a time when you were limited to a very few unattractive options.

- You could take a class and learn to write HTML or spend hundreds of dollars on a program like Dreamweaver (which still requires a pretty intensive learning session to use properly)
- You could pay a web professional a lot of money each month to make the changes for you.
- You could sign up with one of those "build your own website" companies and settle for a very amatuer web presence.
Not any more. We can give you a world class, custom designed website and the ability to make changes anytime you like from any computer with an internet connection. There's no special software to buy or install and no special coding to learn. If you can use a simple word processor, you can make updates to your site quickly and as often as you like. It's truly almost as simple as sending an email, and the changes take place immediately.

You simply log into the backend of your website. You can set up several users with different access levels. That means you can give an employee access to help out, but have no changes actually show on the live website until you approve it.
Once you log in, you will see an easy to use control panel. Let's say we want to add something new. Just click on that button.
You will now see an editor which is very similar to those used in most email programs such as Hotmail or Yahoo. Just type in your new information.
Using the toolbar at the top you can change text color, create links, make text bold or italic, and much more.
Even uploading and adding images from your computer to your website is simple. Just click the image icon, click upload, then browse and choose the image to upload.
